About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and contribute to a positive health care experience. The role provides customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor, supports store operations, and assists other departments, including pharmacy, when needed. This position is open to applicants willing to work at any CVS location in the Frederick, Maryland area.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible force regularly to move objects, including overhead lifting.
Close visual acuity to use a computer terminal and read or visually inspect small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Anticipate customer needs, demonstrate compassion and care, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items as needed.
Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure departments are stocked and operational.
Stay current with updated services and tools.
Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career development opportunities.
Promote and advocate for new CVS services and loyalty programs.
