About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, to support customers and help meet their healthcare and shopping needs. The role includes providing attentive service, operating the register, maintaining store shelves and inventory, supporting store operations, and assisting other departments, including the pharmacy when needed. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Lift and exert up to 35 lbs of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, demonstrate compassion and care, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support opening and closing store activities when needed.
• Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, keeping departments stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as opportunities for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
