About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role contributes to CVS Health’s efforts to provide a connected, convenient, and compassionate health experience.

The associate provides attentive customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor and inventory, supports store opening and closing activities, and helps keep photo and beauty departments stocked and operational. The position may also involve assisting pharmacy personnel and working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development. Associates are expected to support CVS services and loyalty programs that help customers on their path to better health.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing assigned inventory management tasks.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, keeping departments stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career development opportunities.
• Promote and advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
