About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, cleaning, and helping maintain the store’s appearance. The role enhances the customer shopping experience through teamwork and exceptional customer service. Associates work an average of 30 or more hours per week. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with listed wage increases to $19.50 in year 2, $20.00 in year 3, $20.00 in year 4, and $21.00 in year 5. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Inform store management of loss resulting from outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as needed to maintain efficient checkout.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals.
Assist store management in achieving total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe work environment by identifying and addressing hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
