About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and contribute to CVS Health’s health care mission. The role involves providing friendly, compassionate service; operating the register; maintaining the sales floor and inventory; supporting store operations; and helping keep departments, including photo and beauty, stocked and operational. Associates may also assist pharmacy personnel, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development, and promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Occasionally lift or exert up to 35 pounds, frequently up to 10 pounds, and regularly a negligible amount of force to move objects, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer assistance locating items.
• Perform cashier duties accurately, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, ensuring they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career-development opportunities.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
