About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and help meet their healthcare and retail needs. The role includes providing compassionate service, processing transactions, maintaining store inventory and sales-floor presentation, supporting store operations, and assisting departments including photo, beauty, and pharmacy. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Occasionally lift and exert up to 35 lbs of force, frequently up to 10 lbs, and regularly a negligible amount; tasks may include overhead lifting and moving objects.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items as needed.
• Accurately process cash, check, and credit-card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide support to all departments, including photo and beauty, keeping departments stocked and operational and staying current on updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
