About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, helping customers with their needs and supporting store operations. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to customers’ health and shopping experiences while supporting a range of store departments and services.

Associates provide friendly, compassionate customer service; perform cashier duties; maintain the sales floor and inventory; and support store opening and closing as needed. They may assist departments such as photo and beauty, help pharmacy personnel, and promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is part-time, with 15 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to perform tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items when needed.
• Perform cashier duties, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately and following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
