About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and contribute to CVS Health’s healthcare mission. The role provides friendly, attentive service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor and inventory, supports store opening and closing activities as needed, and helps keep departments including photo and beauty stocked and operational. Associates may also assist pharmacy personnel, including by working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development, and promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Able to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Able to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal and read or inspect small parts and details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current on services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as opportunities arise.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
