About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and contribute to their health care experience. The role provides differentiated service by anticipating customer needs, offering friendly assistance, resolving service issues, and promoting CVS services and loyalty programs. Associates may support store operations across sales, photo, beauty, and pharmacy departments, including stocking, inventory, cashiering, and opening or closing activities.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
Close visual acuity to use a computer terminal, read, and visually inspect small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items as needed.
Accurately handle cash, check, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure departments are stocked and operational.
Remain current with updated services and tools.
Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
