About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, to support customer needs and CVS Health’s services. The role includes providing helpful customer service, performing cashier duties, maintaining the sales floor and inventory, supporting store operations, and assisting other departments, including the pharmacy when needed. The position is part-time, with 20 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Occasionally lift or exert up to 35 lbs, frequently up to 10 lbs, and regularly exert negligible force to move objects, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate additional items as needed.
• Perform cashier duties accurately, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by keeping them stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
