About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to customers’ healthcare needs and support CVS Health services and loyalty programs.

Associates provide welcoming, attentive customer service; handle cashier transactions; maintain the sales floor and inventory; support store opening and closing as needed; and assist other departments, including photo, beauty, and pharmacy. The position is part-time, with an anticipated 20 hours per week. Weekday shift times are flexible, and weekend availability is required every weekend. The listed availability is 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day, Monday through Sunday.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Occasionally lift or exert up to 35 pounds, frequently up to 10 pounds, and regularly exert negligible force to move objects, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.
• Be available for the required schedule, including every weekend.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, check, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities as needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health.
