About The Position

The Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and contribute to CVS Health’s goal of helping people on their path to better health. The role provides friendly, compassionate customer service; handles checkout transactions; maintains store merchandise and inventory; and supports store operations and other departments, including photo, beauty, and, when needed, the pharmacy. Associates may also support opening and closing activities and promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Able to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Able to lift or exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to use a computer terminal, read, and visually inspect small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
• Accurately process cash, check, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Assist customers and support the photo and beauty departments, keeping departments stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
