About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and CVS Health’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. The role includes providing compassionate, attentive service; operating the register; maintaining sales-floor inventory and pricing; supporting store opening and closing activities; and assisting across departments, including photo and beauty. Associates may also assist pharmacy personnel and work regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development. The position is part-time, with anticipated weekly hours of 15. All shifts are described as flexible, and the stated availability includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5 pm to 10 pm, plus Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm. Every other weekend is required.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit-card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and perform inventory-management tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
