Store Associate
About The Position
The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and CVS Health’s healthcare and retail services. The role includes providing friendly, compassionate customer service; accurately handling transactions; maintaining the sales floor and inventory; assisting with store opening and closing activities as needed; supporting departments such as photo and beauty; and assisting pharmacy personnel when needed. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
Requirements
- At least 16 years of age.
- Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
- Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and differentiated service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
- Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items when needed.
- Perform cashier duties, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately and following company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
- Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
- Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
- Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
- Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
