About The Position

The Store Asset Protection Associate helps reduce shortage and support investigations by promoting adherence to Five Below policies and procedures, maintaining store security, and identifying ways to prevent loss. The role works closely with the General Manager and provides a visible, courteous presence for customers while supporting store safety operations. The position requires independent work, regular attendance, and the ability to move throughout the store and stand or walk on the sales floor for extended periods.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service skills.
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of retail Loss Prevention experience.
Basic understanding of retail or security.
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed by retail business needs.
Ability to stand or walk on the sales floor for 8 hours at a time.
Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
Regular time and attendance.
Ability to work independently.
Full understanding of Five Below policy and procedure.
General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
Conduct physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
Perform figure 8s in the store and move throughout the store continuously.
Provide a visible presence at the entrance and exit through courteous, professional interactions with customers.
Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
