About The Position

The Storage Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting inventory. This role involves conducting daily analyses of inventory positions to forecast potential inventory shortages or space requirements, and ensuring products are correctly put away and replenished. The coordinator will work with the WMS team, warehouse management, and clients to set up new items in the WMS Inventory, and assist in plant layout discussions. They will implement and maintain inventory control procedures and industry best practices, account for defective or damaged product, and provide support to other departments. Additionally, the role involves working closely with the Operations Manager to create and maintain SOPs and DOPs. Marginal functions include continuous improvement efforts, participating in meetings regarding facility layout and process flow, operating material handling equipment, and performing cycle counts.

Requirements

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Basic reading and math skills required.
  • Demonstrated decision making abilities and experience using Root Cause Analysis.
  • Able to follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately, and provide instructions to other associates as needed.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to reach, bend, climb and lift up to 50lbs safely as needed.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills.
  • Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed due to customer demand.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Excel, Preferred.
  • Previous experience in an Automotive Environment, Preferred.
  • Previous experience with Continuous Improvement Plans and Lean Manufacturing techniques, preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOX Compliance Requirements and OSHA Safety Regulations, Preferred.
  • Familiarity with SDS/Hazmat Safety, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting inventory.
  • Conducting daily analyses of inventory positions to forecast potential inventory shortages or space requirements.
  • Putting away product in its correct location.
  • Filling empty pick locations and ensuring the right product is replenished and verified to the correct location.
  • Working with the WMS team, warehouse management, and client to set up new items in the WMS Inventory.
  • Assisting in plant layout discussions and making recommendations.
  • Implementing and/or maintaining inventory control procedures and industry best practices.
  • Accounting for all defective or damaged product and following appropriate corrective actions.
  • Providing support to other departments as needed.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to create and maintain all SOP’s and DOP’s.
  • Demonstrating continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes.
  • Participating in meetings regarding facility layout, process flow, inventory profiles etc.
  • Operating material handling equipment as required to complete job functions.
  • Performing cycle counts or verification of inventory quantities and locations.
