About The Position

The Storage Engineer III will be responsible for planning and managing the installation, configuration, and tuning of SAN, Dell/EMC storage technologies, and Cisco MDS 9718 environment. This role ensures the security and continuous availability of the data storage network across the enterprise and for banking customers. The position involves providing level 3/4 support, documenting issues and resolutions, tracking root cause analysis, and managing storage provisioning, SAN, backups, capacity analysis, monitoring, break/fix (vendor management), upgrade paths, and best practices for current storage technologies. Additionally, the role will administer hardware components for Dell/EMC, HP, IBM, and Pure Storage systems, interpret storage protocols (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, CIFS, NFS, NDMP), and manage the company's storage-based systems and deployment of storage technologies. A flexible work schedule is required for planned activities outside normal business hours, and the position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement combining in-office and work from home.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in storage management or providing solutions using Dell/EMC technologies.
• 5 years of experience in Fibre Channel switch management using Cisco MDS technology to zone fabric and provide LUN masking.
• 5 years of experience in storage provisioning across various platforms of Window, Unix, and VMware servers.
• 5 years of experience in designing and implementing data migrations between storage arrays within data center and between data centers.
• 5 years of experience supporting 7+ petabyte storage environment in a large financial institution environment.
• 5 years of experience communicating with internal technology teams to identify requirements, diagnose issues, and discuss solutions.
• 5 years of experience with Disaster Recovery and high availability.
• 5 years of experience with Shell scripting and automating migrations.
• 5 years of experience with distributed backup and restore software.
• 5 years of experience troubleshooting escalated storage issues.
• 2 years of Isilon administration.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage installation, configuration and tuning of SAN, Dell/EMC storage technologies, and Cisco MDS 9718 environment.
• Ensure security and continuous availability of data storage network across enterprise and for banking customers.
• Provide level 3/4 support, documenting issues, resolution, procedural operations, and tracking root cause analysis.
• Plan and manage provisioning of storage, SAN and Backups, capacity analysis, monitoring, break/fix (vendor management), upgrade paths and best practices.
• Manage and provide current disk storage usage statistics and future projected growth estimates.
• Administer hardware components for Dell/EMC, HP, IBM, and Pure Storage systems.
• Interpret storage protocols for iSCSI, Fibre Channel, CIFS, NFS, and NDMP.
• Manage and maintain company's storage-based systems and deployment of storage technologies.
• Perform planned activities occurring outside normal business hours.
