About The Position

The Storage Associate supports the daily operations of one or more Extra Space Storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps maintain high cleanliness standards and operational excellence while building customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, presenting storage solutions, and managing customer accounts. This position works between multiple stores in the district. The stated pay range is $16.80–$17.00 per hour. The role is day shift; the office closes at 6 p.m. The location is closed on Sundays.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle are necessary for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience preferred.
• College education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness through ongoing site maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance of the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
