About The Position

As a successful program administered by our Musselwhite Academy, this three-month training program is designed to prepare individuals who are interested in working in an underground mining environment. The curriculum includes the Underground Hard Rock Miner – Common Core modules, along with a selection of specialty modules tailored to the industry. Stope School prepares trainees with a strong foundational understanding of underground mining, with safety emphasized as a top priority. Training consists of theory and practical activities consistent with the guidelines outlined by the Common Core Modules, a series of programs administered by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Skills Development. Upon successful completion of the program, participants may be considered for advancement into a Mine Trainee position, subject to performance, operational requirements, and available opportunities.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
