About The Position

Bloomington Crushed Stone, an underground and surface limestone mine/quarry, is seeking a Stockpile Truck Operator for its operation in Bloomington, IN. This position is full-time, operates on the second shift (2 p.m. – 10 p.m.), and offers a union environment with excellent pay, pension, and benefits. The role requires an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence and a self-starter attitude. The company is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees, established in 1908, and recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.

Requirements

  • Dedication to safe work practices.
  • Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties on the ground and in the plant as needed/directed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
  • Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating both rigid frame haul trucks and/or articulating haul trucks preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed

Responsibilities

  • Operate haul trucks or articulated dump trucks to transport shot rock, crushed limestone, or fines from the plant or pit to designated stockpile areas.
  • Dump loads in an organized manner to build safe, stable stockpiles of different aggregate products.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.
  • Routine equipment/plant maintenance
  • Involved with plant improvement projects
  • Inspect and perform daily repairs and maintenance on plant
  • Inspect and maintain crushers, conveyors, screens, and other equipment
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
