Stockless Inventory Attendant (CUPE), JIT - Part Time - Markham Stouffville Hospital
About The Position
Oak Valley Health is seeking a Part-Time Stockless Inventory Attendant to manage medical/surgical supplies hospital-wide. This role involves understanding and maintaining the just-in-time inventory system, including the layout and stocking of carts. The attendant will be responsible for picking, delivering, and auditing supplies, managing cart organization and cleanliness, and communicating with departments and supervisors regarding inventory levels and back orders. The position also includes breaking down cardboard, returning plastics, and uploading orders using the Pathways Material Management system.
Requirements
- Minimum grade 12 education
- Good mathematical skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical/surgical supplies from a patient care or stores setting
- 1-2 years of recent experience and working knowledge of just-in-time inventory systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient computer and typing skills
- Proven abilities to work effectively with minimal supervision and as a member of a team
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records
- Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace
- Ability to complete relevant mandatory education as required
Responsibilities
- Ordering and distributing medical/surgical supplies hospital-wide
- Understanding the location and function of just-in-time carts
- Designing, building, and revising cart layouts using dividers and labels
- Picking third-party medical/surgical supplies and delivering them to units
- Checking carts for outdated supplies and replacing them
- Maintaining individual carts in an orderly and clean state, ensuring product specificity
- Conducting daily audits of delivered items for accuracy
- Reviewing and communicating important back orders from the just-in-time provider with departments and supervisors
- Breaking down cardboard and neatly returning plastics inside empty totes for the just-in-time provider
- Uploading par level cart orders into a handheld device using the Pathways Material Management system
- Other duties as assigned

- Compensation: CU02 Range: $26.94 - $29.28
