About The Position

The AES Corporation, a global power company, is seeking a Stockkeeper General for Indianapolis Power & Light Company. This role involves managing incoming and outgoing materials and equipment, maintaining inventory, and operating various warehouse equipment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to follow written procedures for the primary duties of a stock keeper
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license
  • Experience operating trucks, forklifts, and heavy mobile equipment
  • Must pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT)
  • Prior training and/or experience operating personal computers and remote communication terminals
  • Willing to work from any of the Company’s stores facilities
  • Willing to work any assigned shift
  • Willing to work various days off
  • Physical fitness, attendance and performance records will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehousing experience in receiving, stocking, inventorying and distributing materials
  • Previous experience in overhead or underground line department
  • Any other qualifications contributing to the applicant’s ability to perform the job

Responsibilities

  • Checking, inspecting, identifying and properly receiving all incoming materials and equipment and the storing and disbursing of same.
  • Entering issue and receiving documents into computer terminals.
  • Making final arrangement for the return of materials and supplies to vendors and others.
  • Operates stores equipment and prepares salvaged materials and equipment for disposal.
  • Maintains good housekeeping, complies with all safety rules, makes contact with other departments and protects all stores buildings, materials and equipment.
  • Receiving all incoming material and checking packing lists and return material orders against the materials received, and the purchase order for damage, quantity or other critical data.
  • Operating computer terminals or other data collecting devices to enter issue and receiving documents; operating bar coding equipment.
  • Identifying, storing and disbursing all materials by checking accuracy of code, account and job numbers and locations; performs other general office duties related to the work.
  • Operating and maintaining all stock handling equipment such as trucks, forklifts, cranes, pole handlers, wire recoilers and other mechanical devices and equipment necessary in the receiving, storing, disbursing and salvaging operations.
  • Accepts and prepares all salvaged materials and equipment as directed for final disposition as stores reclaimed material, or segregates for disposal as scrap or used equipment.
  • May be assigned to any storeroom and/or yard.
  • Assists personnel in other departments as needed.
  • Performs other work as circumstances require.
  • Know and comply with all Company safety and health policies and procedures applicable to work performance.

Benefits

  • Hourly wage rate of $29.90 - $46.18
