Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, work permit may be required.
  • Knowledge of basic math, ability to inventory, and stock.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact with people of varying backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Takes inventory on nourishment rooms and day spaces.
  • Collaborates with St. Mary’s Nutrition Services department to obtain stocking supplies.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of nourishments and supplies for patients and families on the nursing unit.
  • Will be responsible for cleaning and monitoring temperatures of all refrigerators and freezers on the inpatient unit.
  • Assist the Nutrition clinician in delivering meal trays, as well as tray retrieval after the meal hour.
  • Follows exposure/infection control, safety and equipment management, hazard, and quality improvement/risk management plans.
  • Washes in and out of all patient rooms.
  • Treats all patients, families, employees, and visitors with respect, dignity, and courtesy and immediately addresses customer concerns appropriately.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members.
  • This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.
  • Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions.
  • Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
