About The Position

The Stock Yard Material Handler is the primary lead associate responsible for the safe and efficient staging of large steel structures and equipment throughout the stock yard. Qualified candidates must have the skills and experience in the safe lifting and movement of large, heavy, unbalanced structures such as long heavy steel pipes and large metal equipment. This position requires a skilled, certified forklift operator that has experience working outdoors and moving large, heavy, awkward materials. Other primary responsibilities include warehouse, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years certified Forklift experience required
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Must have ability work independently and with the warehouse team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a CombiLift multidirectional forklift with a sideload option.
  • Previous Industrial experience in a steel stock yard, service center, or metal distribution facility is preferred.
  • Experience handling large metal products such as pipe, tubing, structural steel, or plate material is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load, unload, move, stack, and organize pipe, tubing, structural steel, and other large, heavy metal products.
  • Operate forklifts other material handling equipment.
  • Pull and stage customer orders accurately according to work orders and shipping schedules.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and material tracking.
  • Inspect materials for damage and ensure proper storage procedures are followed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse conditions.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Assist with general warehouse and yard duties as assigned.
