About The Position

The Stock Clerk at PAY-LESS is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate management of inventory within the store. This role involves maintaining stock levels, organizing merchandise, and assisting in the smooth operation of the store's supply chain processes. The Stock Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting the store's sales efforts by ensuring that products are readily available and properly displayed for customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Health Certificate.
  • Must be able to uphold our company’s mission statement.
  • Work flexible work schedule.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and customers.
  • Capability to lift heavy items and work in cold environments for extended periods
  • Adhere to all local and federal safety and environmental codes, ordinances, standards and laws; adhere to all Pay-Less Markets and local safety plans, policies, practices and standards; be aware of and follow all safety rules of your work site; report any unsafe conditions or accidents to your supervisor and participate in mandatory or available safety training.
  • The employee should have the physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
  • The employee must be comfortable working in a cold environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and respond to customers and employees.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process incoming stock and materials, verifying the accuracy of deliveries and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas, ensuring that all items are easily accessible and properly labeled.
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages to the relevant department to facilitate timely reordering.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of product displays, ensuring that merchandise is presented in an appealing and organized manner.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support store operations and customer service efforts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the stockroom and other inventory areas.
  • Adhere to all safety and security protocols to protect inventory and minimize loss.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
