About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for a Stock Clerk to work in Fort Hood, TX. This role involves performing clerical and physical tasks related to shipping and receiving goods. The Stock Clerk will follow established guidelines for routine tasks and receive specific guidance for non-routine issues. The position may involve directing and coordinating the activities of other workers involved in handling goods. Responsibilities include verifying order accuracy, ensuring proper packaging and identification of shipments, preparing shipping records, verifying incoming shipments against documentation, checking for damaged goods, routing goods to appropriate departments, and preparing receiving records.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier 1 investigation and to obtain/maintain common access card (CAC).
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of lifting 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of logistics, warehouse, supply, or retail stock experience (i.e. inventory control, shipping/receiving processes, order picking, material handling, warehouse organization).
  • Prior military supply (92 series) or contractor experience.
  • Experience with logistics STAMIS, ERP or warehouse management systems (i.e. GCSS-Army, CMOS, SARSS, SAMS-E, SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience with operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods of the establishment in which employed and receiving incoming shipments.
  • Follows established guidelines for day-to-day routine tasks and receives specific guidance for unusual non-routine problems.
  • May direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.
  • Verifies that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents.
  • Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles.
  • Prepares and keeps records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading.
  • Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
  • Checks for damaged goods.
  • Ensures that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment.
  • Prepares and keeps records of goods received.
