About The Position

HUTCO, INC. is currently seeking Welders to work in Houston, Texas. To be considered for this Welder opportunity, you must have at least 2 years of experience in stick welding. The position requires the ability to perform all functions of the position in conformity with applicable regulations and generally observed safety practices. This includes entering and moving through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces, manipulating and transporting loads up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 200 feet approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8 hour shift, occasionally 75 pounds. The role also involves manipulating and operating all machines and tools essential to the performance of the position of Structural Welder, traversing gangways and scaffolding at varying heights, and traversing and negotiating uneven surfaces and uneven heights between dock and vessel. The job requires stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, lifting, and reaching.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in stick welding.
Must be able to pass hands-on certification tests.
Welding Hood (connects to Hard hat)
Welding Gloves
Chipping Hammer
Steel Toe Boots
Long – Sleeve Shirt
Long Pants
Stinger/ Electrode Holder with Male Connector (SMAW)
Pliers / Cutters (FCAW)
Safety Glasses
Wire Brush

Responsibilities

Perform welding tasks using stick welding techniques.
Enter and move through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces.
Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 200 feet, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
Manipulate and operate all machines and tools essential to the performance of the position.
