About The Position

The Stewardship Coordinator plays an integral role in advancing our ministry by supporting grant development, gift processing, and planned giving efforts. Through faithful stewardship of donor resources and meaningful engagement with supporters, this position helps ensure the sustainability and growth of our mission. The Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) Stewardship Coordinator is a cross-functional position providing administrative and execution support to core areas of: Grant Solicitation, Gift Processing, and Planned Giving. The ideal candidate will cross-train in each of these core areas, providing strategic support as workload varies in each area. A qualified candidate must be highly attentive to detail, work effectively across teams, have strong organizational skills, and easily adapt to a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree or equivalent desired
  • Prior experience working with state, federal, and/or private grants desired, but not required
  • Data tracking experience is highly desirable
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office
  • High comfort level in working in an autonomous office setting
  • Collective and/or collaborative problem-solving skills a must

  • Serves as an advocate for the homeless and raises awareness of the needs and concern for the addicted and those in poverty, engaging others within one’s influence of greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of this population in Colorado Springs.
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and organizational skills

  • Expert time management skills for the completion and submission of monthly client tracking data.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and able to effectively multi-task
  • Comfortable with data entry and client tracking and working with Excel spreadsheets

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

  • In this role, you may be required to drive on behalf of our company utilizing our company’s vehicle and/or your personal vehicle. In accordance with that, a valid driver’s license, current proof of insurance and/or clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years is required. To ensure the safety of our employees and compliance with state and federal law, our company utilizes ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring where MVR reports may be run randomly to ensure you have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record if utilized as driver.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly completes donor stewardship reports within required timeline(s).
  • Effectively assists with billing functions for reimbursement grants.
  • Correctly completes grant application forms within required timeline(s).
  • Provides support to Gift-Processing team, shifting focus to accommodate seasonal workload increases.
  • Day-to-day gift processing for checks, wire transfers, ACH transfers, stocks, donor-advised funds, IRA, bank deposits, etc.
  • Accurate application of donation coding in Every Action
  • Issues HCTC certificates and assists donors with HCTC needs
  • Issues donor giving receipts, acknowledgement letters and year end statements
  • Ensures accuracy of donor information in Every Action
  • Ensures accuracy of financial record keeping
  • Provides prompt donor service, responding relationally to donor requests
  • Cross trains in all aspects of gift processing to provide support during peak times
  • Works collaboratively with the Finance and Advancement teams to resolve donation challenges
  • Evaluates workflow to improve efficiency and data accuracy
  • Supports planned giving functions, including:
  • Sending letters of appreciation to planned giving interested donors.
  • Noting/Recording donor planned giving interest in Every Action.
  • Attend all required meetings and review SRM emails regularly.
