About The Position

Oaklawn is seeking a talented Stewarding Manager to join their team. This role oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of kitchens and back-of-house areas, manages weekly deep cleaning of equipment, orders linen and chemicals, and maintains a friendly and professional image. The position requires ensuring impeccable guest service, supervising cleaning to meet health department standards, assisting in staff training and supervision, conducting daily inspections of back-of-house areas, ensuring equipment and floor cleanliness, training staff on chemical use and cleaning methods, delegating duties, maintaining stock of operating supplies, overseeing trash disposal, and ensuring restaurants are properly supplied with dishes and silverware. The role also involves following established procedures and policies of Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the Food & Beverage, culinary, event management or related professional area required.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a supervisor or above in a high-volume food establishment required.
  • Must be able to handle several projects and tasks at the same time.
  • Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Food & Beverage team members.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major preferred.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchens and other back of house areas.
  • Oversees weekly deep cleaning of equipment.
  • Orders linen and chemicals.
  • Presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino.
  • Supervises the cleaning necessary to meet the requirements of the Hot Springs Health Department.
  • Assists in the training and supervision of department staff.
  • Assists in the daily inspections of all Food & Beverage back of the house areas for cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensures that cleanliness of all cooking equipment, floors, and walls are maintained.
  • Responsible for training staff in the use of necessary chemicals and proper methods for cleaning.
  • Responsible for the delegation of job duties to work force.
  • Maintains the stock of china, glassware, silverware, and other operating supplies.
  • Oversees the disposal of trash and garbage.
  • Assures that restaurants are properly supplied with dishes and silverware.
  • Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.
