About The Position

Fairmont Royal York, a historic luxury hotel in Toronto with a legacy of over 96 years, is undergoing a transformation for a sustainable future. We are seeking a Steward to join our team and contribute to our culture of excellence. This role involves completing assigned stewarding tasks, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, operating and cleaning machinery, organizing dish room areas, performing general dishwashing and cleaning duties, preparing coffee for banquets, and adhering to all health and safety regulations. The position requires upholding the highest standards of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and completing other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

Must be a highly motivated individual.
Must have an understanding of written and spoken English.
Must be flexible with shift work hours.
Must be able to perform physically under pressure.
Must be able to handle a hot working environment.
Must be able to operate, lift, push and pull heavy equipment.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

Complete all stewarding tasks as assigned and maintain the highest level of Fairmont Hotels.
Keep all immediate work areas clean and free from debris while adhering to all health and safety procedures of the hotel and kitchen.
Operate, clean, and perform general maintenance of all machinery and heavy-duty equipment within the department including the dishwashing machine, and soaking tanks.
Set up and organize the dish room areas and keep free from hazards and debris.
Perform general dishwashing and cleaning duties.
Prepare coffee for banquets when required.
Follow all health and safety rules as outlined by the department and the hotel.
Ensure that all ECOSURE standards and processes are completed on a daily basis in his or her area of the department, this includes but isn’t limited to filling out daily dishwasher/ pot washer temperature logs.
Uphold the highest standard of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Complete all other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.
