About The Position

A Steward maintains cleanliness and proper storage of china, glassware, and silverware while ensuring high standards of sanitation. The role assists kitchen staff by cleaning equipment, utensils, the kitchen work area, and storage areas, and by supporting proper food storage and rotation.

Requirements

• Able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean china, glassware, and silverware and maintain sanitation.
• Return clean china, glassware, and silverware to their proper storage locations, taking care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to proper cleanliness and sanitation procedures, and store them in the proper locations.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Maintain cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
