About The Position

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more. We are currently seeking Stewards for Mississippi State University (MSU), located in Starkville, MS to provide back of house support for our Performance Dining Team. This is seasonal/part-time work based on business needs.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
Must be a phenomenal team player.
ServSafe Certified preferred.
Excellent listening and communication skills
The ability to work alone and as a team.
Self-motivated with a high energy level
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces.
Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting up-to 50 pounds at a time.
Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships.
Possess the expertise and skill levels required for the job and perform with quality.

Responsibilities

Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed.
Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes as needed.
Assists with equipment & inventory control, maintenance of the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
Helps run food to food service prep areas.
Assists in other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
