About The Position

This position involves organizing cleaning chemicals and supplies, maintaining the supply rack with items like pots, pans, serving spoons, and utensils. The role requires rotating stock, moving items from storage to the kitchen, and completing cleaning checklists to ensure appropriate cleaning and sanitizing timelines. Responsibilities include collecting dirty pans from the cooking line, transporting them to the pot station for cleaning, and maintaining the cleanliness of sanitation areas, including organizing cleaning supplies like mops and brooms. The Steward Lead will also clean and maintain loading dock areas, and the ceiling, walls, and vents in the dish room, ensuring clean wares are stored appropriately. Additionally, the role requires operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools such as the dishwashing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. The Steward Lead will also assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model. This includes following all company and safety/security policies, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and using clear and professional language when communicating are also key. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and ensuring adherence to quality standards are expected. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by Supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Organize cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Organize supply rack, including pots, pans, serving spoons, utensils, etc.
  • Rotate stock, bringing wares from storage bin or areas into kitchen.
  • Complete cleaning checklists to determine appropriate timelines for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Collect dirty pans from the cooking line and transport to pot station for cleaning.
  • Clean and maintain sanitation areas and organize cleaning supplies including hanging up mops and brooms.
  • Clean and maintain loading dock areas.
  • Clean ceiling, walls, and vents in dish room.
  • Ensure clean wares are stored appropriately.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
