About The Position

Perform dishwashing and kitchen cleaning functions. This role involves washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans, as well as operating dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment. The steward will also be responsible for placing clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas, and maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition. Additionally, this position involves stocking supplies, sweeping and washing floors, cleaning trash cans, and sorting and removing trash. In the event of staffing shortages or during peak periods, the steward may perform food preparation functions. A key aspect of the role is to be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work towards increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction, while practicing safe work habits and following MSDS and OSHA standards. Other duties may be requested by management.

Requirements

Previous stewarding experience required or equivalent training.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
Sweep and wash floors and clean trash cans.
Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
Perform food preparation functions in the event of staffing shortages or during peak periods.
Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
