About The Position

The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal, operated by Greenwich Terminals LLC, is a highly productive terminal in the United States. The facility employs 12 productive and safe in-house labor crews and offers 19 start times, providing flexibility for vessel schedules. This results in faster cargo movement and cost savings for distributors. A growing Philadelphia area stevedore and terminal operating company is seeking highly motivated individuals for full-time Superintendent positions. Successful candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, drug-free environment. In this role, candidates will direct, supervise, and assign work to ILA Longshoremen, monitor loading and unloading sequences to meet safety and productivity standards, oversee employee attendance, and resolve personnel issues.

Strong attention to detail
Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to supervise and direct groups of individuals
Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn in-house systems
Ability to work night and weekend shifts as required
Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC Card

Nice To Haves

Vessel experience and/or marine terminal operations experience preferred
Prior stevedoring and/or supervisory experience is a plus
Familiarity with marine terminal operations and vessel experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Direct, supervise, and assign work to ILA Longshoremen
Monitor loading and unloading sequences to meet all safety and productivity standards
Oversee employee attendance
Resolve personnel issues
Provide excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Solve problems, anticipate issues before they arise, and follow through to completion
Assume a leadership role and actively participate in the company safety program
Coordinate with internal departments, customers and their agents, and vendors
