About The Position

The Sterilization Technician at Burg Orthodontics is responsible for overseeing the inventory and distribution of equipment and supplies. This role involves controlling inventory, reordering supplies, checking expiration dates, and ensuring the cleanliness of the department and all processing equipment. The technician will inspect, disassemble, sort, clean, and process reusable instrumentation and equipment, as well as diagnose and repair issues with processing equipment. They will also be responsible for unloading and storing supplies correctly, maintaining current training on standard operating procedures, and supporting the implementation of new technology. The position requires the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, knowledge of OSHA and state regulations, and proficiency in English language composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Additionally, the role requires skills in using standard office equipment and computer software, the ability to instill trust, work cooperatively with others, prioritize and organize tasks independently, understand and follow instructions, collect data, and communicate effectively.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of OSHA and state regulations
Knowledge of the English language – composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software)
Ability to instill trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients
Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients
Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and accept constructive criticism
Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

Oversee inventory and distribution of equipment and supplies.
