About The Position

The Sterilization Assistant (Sterilization Technician) is part of and supports the clinical team. This role is directly responsible for the safe handling and cleaning of clinical and surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in an efficient manner to ensure the clinical team can perform patient care on time.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
BLS Certification required.
Fluent in English required.
Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

6 months of prior clinical experience preferred.
Spanish as second language is a plus.

Responsibilities

Observe patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Properly clean and disinfect all dental instruments, equipment, and surfaces used during dental procedures to the required standards.
Ensure that clinical tools and equipment are properly cleaned and sterilized before procedures begin.
Break down and clean operatories after use.
Keep operatories stocked with necessary supplies as directed.
Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy, and sterile as appropriate according to health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers’ instructions.
Clean all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order.
Be familiar and comply with all Health and Safety rules and guidance infection control and ensure safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste.
Unpackage supplies and stock as directed.
Assist other members of the team with patient care.
Other office tasks as assigned during clinical downtime.
