About The Position

Zoetis in Lincoln, NE, manufactures high-quality medicines for dogs, cats, and livestock. Our plant has been recognized as one of Nebraska’s Safest Companies and has a long-standing presence in the Lincoln community. We are a clean, modern site that continues to innovate and grow. This position is under supervision, and the Sterilization Technician will observe all PPE requirements per Zoetis policy and become familiar with department-specific SOPs. The role involves building necessary apparatuses per daily instructions, helping load and unload incoming materials from the warehouse, and learning to safely load and unload a variety of autoclaves. Colleagues will follow floor leads during the training period and complete tasks as required to gain training in the area. The role requires the ability to perform standing, walking, squatting, and lifting tasks throughout the day, with good attendance and the ability to stay late occasionally. The hours are 1st Shift, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, with potential for overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical skills.
  • Demonstration of personal computer usage.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Read, interpret, and apply safety procedures, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and departmental procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and Team Leader.

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unit of measure.
  • Perform conversions within the metric system.
  • Complete controlled documents and inventory calculations using basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and practice basic aseptic procedures per training and SOPs.
  • Assist with reading and reporting test results using scientific instruments.
  • Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Learn and comply with SOP’s and associated documentation necessary to perform job functions.
  • Learn and assist in the completion of documentation including process worksheets, reports, log sheets.
  • Train in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), then demonstrate understanding and compliance.
  • Clean areas, as applicable, according to specific SOPs.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies in the production area.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Understand and comply with safety SOP’s and procedures (Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) guidelines, Near Miss, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), biohazard training, Monthly Safety trainings, etc.).
  • May be required to handle hazardous waste.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills within and outside the department using verbal, written, and non-verbal skills.
  • Become certified operator of electric material handling equipment (i.e., electric pallet jack, tank tugger, etc.), as applicable.
  • Perform supplemental duties as assigned by supervisor.
