About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Sterilization Technician to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, tracked, and ready for patient care. The ideal candidate is committed to maintaining the highest standards of infection control, patient safety, and operational efficiency while collaborating effectively with providers and team members.

Requirements

  • Experience in dental, healthcare, sterilization processing, or a related clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization procedures.
  • Knowledge of dental and medical instruments and their proper handling.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet procedural schedules.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a dental sterilization department or central sterilization environment.
  • Familiarity with instrument tracking and sterilization management systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply control processes.
  • Certification in sterile processing or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, infection control guidelines, and dental practice policies.
  • Ensure instruments are processed and sterilized promptly upon receipt in the central sterilization area.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency throughout all sterilization areas.
  • Accurately document sterilization cycles, biological monitoring (spore testing), and related records.
  • Utilize instrument tracking systems to monitor equipment throughout the sterilization process.
  • Maintain inventory levels and supply orders to support uninterrupted clinical operations.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or sterilization concerns to the Lead Sterilization Technician in a timely manner.
  • Support providers by ensuring instruments and handpieces are available and prepared to meet clinical schedules and special requests.
  • Attend department meetings and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
