About The Position

Our practice, Vermont Oral Surgery Associates, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care. As a Sterilization Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and sterile environment for our patients and surgical team. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and equipment to support seamless oral surgery procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Use ultrasonic cleaners, autoclaves, chemical disinfectants, and other sterilization methods to ensure all surgical instruments are properly sanitized
  • Track and manage surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring everything is clean, sterile, and ready for use
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect instruments, treatment areas, and equipment before and after each patient procedure
  • Adhere to sterilization protocols and OSHA, CDC, and industry safety regulations
  • Perform regular checks to ensure the sterility of instruments and equipment
  • Document sterilization processes and maintenance logs
  • Assist in setting up surgical trays, instruments, and materials for procedures
  • Monitor and schedule maintenance for sterilization equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Work closely with the clinical and administrative team to ensure seamless workflow and a safe environment for both patients and staff
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned
