About The Position

Dental Associates of Minnesota is seeking a dedicated Dental Sterilization Technician for their Children's Clinic in Savage, MN. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The technician will be responsible for ensuring instruments, treatment areas, and supplies are clean, safe, and ready for patient care, playing a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and positive experience for young patients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in dental sterilization or sterile processing preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA, CDC, and state guidelines
  • Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners
  • Package and organize instruments using proper sterilization methods
  • Monitor sterilization cycles, biological indicators, and testing logs
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on sterilization equipment
  • Clean and disinfect treatment rooms between patients
  • Prepare and break down procedure trays and clinical setups
  • Maintain a safe, sterile, and organized clinical environment
  • Properly handle and dispose of biohazardous waste and sharps
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock sterilization supplies
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining supply inventory
  • Keep storage areas organized and efficient
  • Ensure clinical staff have clean, sterilized instruments when needed
  • Prepare treatment setups based on daily schedules
  • Communicate proactively regarding equipment concerns or workflow delays
  • Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, CDC, and infection control protocols
  • Stay current on required training and safety procedures
  • Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
