About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of medical supplies, equipment, and endoscopes in accordance with established infection control practices. The role supports daily departmental operations and requires attention to detail, adaptability, the ability to work under pressure, and professional collaboration across hospital departments. The technician also provides empathetic, nonjudgmental patient care and customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certification preferred, or eligibility to obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and equipment nomenclature.
• Familiarity with cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization.
• Understanding of departmental operations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and procedural accuracy.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage stress and deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, collaborate professionally, and learn new duties.
