This role ensures the proper functionality and sterility of these items to prevent infection within a healthcare facility, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols established by regulatory agencies. The position involves collecting used and contaminated equipment, manually cleaning supplies, operating decontamination and sterilization equipment, and meticulously examining supplies to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized. The technician will also test and report any issues with sterilization equipment, prepare and deliver necessary equipment for medical procedures, and maintain records of sterilization procedures and equipment maintenance. This role is typically performed in a clinical environment and requires accountability for all job-specific obligations and compliance with organizational policies.
