ASC Sterile Processing Technician
About The Position
Vance Thompson Vision is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join its Alexandria Surgery Center team. The role supports safe, efficient surgical and procedural care by preparing and sterilizing equipment, maintaining instruments and supplies, and assisting with operating-room organization and daily operations. The technician works in accordance with applicable federal, state, accreditation, and center standards and helps nurses and physicians deliver a high standard of patient care. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in instrument processing.
- Detail-oriented and a critical thinker.
- Able to understand team members’ needs.
- Able to be flexible and prioritize duties.
- Ready to live out the company’s core values in interactions with patients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and clean equipment needed for surgeries and procedures.
- Examine supplies to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Ensure equipment, instruments, and supplies can be safely reused to help prevent infection.
- Assist with the organization and daily functioning of the operating room in accordance with applicable standards and center policies and procedures.
- Clean, organize, and restock operating rooms after surgical procedures.
- Create and maintain instrument trays and inventory for ease of use and efficiency.
- Open, close, and stock the sterile core.
- Assist nurses and physicians in delivering patient care.
