About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician or Sterile Processing Technician Trainee for its Central Services team at the Main Campus in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This full-time position supports patient safety and infection prevention by ensuring medical instruments and equipment are safe, sterile, and ready for patient care. Applicants without sterile processing experience may enter a paid trainee pathway with on-the-job training and support.

The role provides exposure to infection prevention protocols, quality and safety standards, and the full sterile processing lifecycle. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a holiday rotation. The position is 1.0 FTE, or 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• For the Sterile Processing Technician role: high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved surgical technology or sterile processing technology program, or a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of sterile processing experience.
• For the Sterile Processing Technician Trainee role: high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a sterile processing cohort and/or sterile processing program within six months of hire; the employer provides the training program.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and clean medical instruments.
• Perform sterilization processes.
• Assemble and package surgical instruments.
• Manage the storage and distribution of supplies and equipment.
