About The Position

The Sterile Processing tech has responsibilities to perform duties in Central Supply. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment using autoclave, chemical sterilization method, preparing trays, ordering and stocking supplies. Document and maintain accurate sterilization records. Perform simple maintenance on equipment. Must comply with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals. Must have the ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High School graduate
• May be required to work any day of the week including holidays and weekends
• Physical requirements include long periods of standing, lifting, stooping, bending, and pushing

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment using autoclave, chemical sterilization method
• Preparing trays
• Ordering and stocking supplies
• Documenting and maintaining accurate sterilization records
• Performing simple maintenance on equipment
• Complying with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals
• Organizing and completing work in a timely manner
