About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician helps provide safe, high-quality surgical care by ensuring instruments are thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready when needed. The role supports patient safety and efficient surgical procedures through careful instrument processing, sterilization monitoring, preparation, and collaboration with clinical staff.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment start date.
• Obtain either Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies according to safety standards.
• Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, and promptly resolve issues.
• Prepare and organize instrument trays and surgical rooms according to the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials while maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Work with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.
