About The Position

Under general supervision, performs standardized and progressively complex sterile processing functions to support safe patient care. Reprocesses reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation for use in the Operating Room and other clinical departments by cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing, and distributing items in accordance with facility policies, manufacturers' Instructions for Use (IFU), and applicable standards and guidelines (AAMI, CDC, The Joint Commission, OSHA). Operates sterilization and reprocessing equipment as assigned and accurately completes required documentation within instrument tracking and sterility assurance systems to support traceability, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • Within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Or Within 1 year of hire National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • 1 year of Instrumentation/sterilization in an acute hospital.
