Sterile Processing Technician
About The Position
Chestnut Surgery Center, an AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center affiliated with Urology Associates of Central California, is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our high-volume surgical team in Fresno. We perform 300+ cases per month across urology and ophthalmology, offering steady, predictable case volume and the chance to build deep specialty expertise in a focused, well-run surgical environment. Predictable, full-time daytime schedule, outpatient ASC hours, no hospital call rotation. Focused specialty scope in urology and ophthalmology High-functioning, tenured surgical team in a physician-owned, AAAHC-accredited facility. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfort working with delicate microsurgical instrumentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to keep pace in a high-volume surgical schedule.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of sterile processing experience in a hospital or ASC setting.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation for urology and ophthalmology cases.
- Prepare and package instrument trays according to physician preference cards and count sheets.
- Operate and monitor steam and low-temperature sterilization equipment, including biological and chemical indicator testing.
- Maintain sterilization logs and instrument tracking documentation for AAAHC compliance.
- Coordinate tray turnover to keep pace with same-day case scheduling.
- Assist with operating and procedure room turnover between cases, including removal of used supplies and instrumentation and restocking of sterile trays, to support timely case starts.
