About The Position

The Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for its Sterile Processing Department at the Reid Outpatient Center. This is a full-time position with an evening shift, working Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Sterile Processing Technician is crucial in supporting surgical services by ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are meticulously cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and readily available for patient care.
Requirements
- 1-2 years Instrument Experience
- 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience
- High School Diploma
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
- Inspect, assemble, and wrap instrument trays and linen for sterilization
- Select appropriate supplies and sterilization methods
- Operate sterilization equipment while following established protocols
- Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization principles and best practices
- Prioritize workload while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
